![]() "Chris Bailey" wrote in message m... Does anybody know of a broadband service which also provides a backup 0800 modem dialup number, Presuming you don't want to go AOL... You best choice might be not to let this influence you - but go for the best ADSL provider that matches your BB needs. Then, as contingency, sign up for the OneTel service. No standing charge, an 0800 number to dial - but you will be charged 1p/minute as PAYG. This will give you long periods at peak time at very reasonable cost and you can always use the service when away from home. The main issue with this is that you may need to switch your outgoing SMTP settings. On the otherhand if the problem with your ADSL supplier is not the 'front-end' BT department - but in the backend 'ISP' bit - then this does give you extra contingency. -- Stuart |
