Lack of knowledge of the competition ? I'm sure there are dozens of
firms offering ADSL, some with good deals, some overpriced, and not
all of them will be known to everyone. You know PlusNet offers a
lower cost service, and on some they would offer a commission (not
at the lowest levels, understandably).

Yes, BT Openworld does have some affiliate scheme, and another,
perhaps, for consultants to get new business. See the links:

http://www.btopenworld.com/DMS was a link posted in another group

There's mention of 5 quid for any Anytime signup, 2 for Surftime,
1 pound for PAYG, but not clear about ADSL, and probably a higher
level for consultants selling packages with 12 month contracts.

BT Openworld also seem to have just launched a "Tell a Friend" referral
scheme at http://195.217.246.146/tellafriend/ offering 20 per ADSL
connection and 5 for an Anytime one - however I think this scheme would
be limited to personal customers not big resellers as per your links

The OP is probably finding that his company are being recommended to go
with BT on the "noone ever got fired for buying IBM etc" principle...

Regards
Sunil

LOL... yes, but the friend's, firm's, consultant might well be using one
of BT's broadband services himself, and still be unaware of u.t.b :-) In
the case of the IBM, all was well until Amdahl products were on sale...
