anyone got any experience of decent adsl modem/router using ethernet
connection.. not usb.

yes, now what's the question (and define "decent" :-)

Seriously, I've used a few different modem/router units, and found no
major problems (so I think they are "decent") costing sums from about
25 to 120 pounds and the only one which had a problem was expensive -
the most expensive of the group - a Netgear DG814. Once set up, it's
simply running and apart from when testing something, just does a job
and is ignored by / invisible to users. Peter M.

I use a Conexant external from Dabs. It has both usb and ethernet although
have only used ethernet. Costs 45. No probs in 2 years.

Ditto for the Asus modem/router.
