Default Where do i put my Microfilters?

Could someone please advise if I have to put a microfilter on ANY socket
which has a telephone plugged into it, or only into a socket where a
telephone is being shared with a broadband modem?

Thanks in advance

Al

You need a filter on every socket which has an analog device (e.g. phone,
56k Modem, Fax Machine etc.) plugged in. In other words, anything designed
to work on a VOICE line will only work on an ADSL line via a filter. This
can be achieved either by using an individual micro-filter in each extension
socket, or by changing the master socket for the ADSL type - which will
filter all your extension sockets without using micro-filters.

This second solution is better in some ways - but it does mean that your
ADSL modem or router has to be plugged into the master socket (or to a
digital extension wired into the master) rather than to any old extension
socket.
