If these basic pieces of information are not provided by the ISP in
the form of a WELCOMING LETTER then that ISP is making a lot of
assumptions on the skill level of the end user.

IMHO the answers a
VCI 38
VPI 0
Anything you fancy in the range 192.168.aa.bb
where aa is between 10 and 254
and bb between 10 and 254
most people opt for the default of 192.168.1.10
Subnet mask: for this ip range of numbers it would be foolhardy not to
use 255.255.255.0
IP gateway: Probably 192.168.1.1
Domain Server: I assume you mean DNS - well that's something you will
have to ask firefly uk about - it would be unfair to use another
organisations ip addresses.

You are not alone in struggling with this initial configuration to get
your Bradband connection going and in most cases it is because it is
assumed that it is a plug and go service; if its not working refresh
your knowlege by having a quick read.
