Default SD Wireless card - Why so expensive ?

These (for pda's) are about 100 and going for about 60 on ebay direct from
the US but why at least 4 times the price of a pcmcia / pci version ?

As it's a new technology (not SD, but actually getting the wireless
components small enough to fit in an SD card). It requires completely
different manufacturing techniques which more than likely cost an awful lot
more than the techniques used to make PCMCIA/PCI wireless adaptors.

It'll fall in time as with any other new technology, but maybe not as
rapidly as PCMCIA/PCI adaptors have.
