Nitrous Oxide for broadband ?

Cable broadband ISP NTL, are in the latter stages of preparing for the
launch of a range of services that will enables users to temporarily
"boost" their service upto a possible 3Mbit (yes, thats right .. THREE
Mbit) - all with the click of a button, raising fears that the
unmetered era of broadband has started its demise.

You do a lot less thundering in the pulpit against the Harlot
after she marches right down the aisle and kicks you in the nuts.

Yes I got in, can't help but worry how much further the 'normal' users
service will deteriorate in order for them to support the newer services???

DNS servers are falling over with monotonous reguality (each day), the
transparent proxies aren't or don't work at all, so it's hunt the working
UBR most nights, the news service isn't (they've moved the servers & not
told the DNS servers apparently), email is supposedly being upgraded, but
the last time NTL upgraded any service it went from usable to abismal. It's
getting to look more & more like it's time to try & find someone else (just
hope that the water board thrust bored through enough of the Ali cables last
year to make a big enough difference to my line tests)...

Now where's Tiscali when you need them.......;-P
