Default DSL-604+ setting up?

Hello

I have just helped a friend setup a BTBroadband connection. BT
unable/unwilling to give any help. They said password not required but
DSL-604+ appeared to want one. Finally we found that giving the user
name and accepting a password which seemed to coem form the DSL-604+,
we got online.

Having done this - am I right in thinking that the only way to
discconect is to use the DSL-604+ web interface? Does not seem very
user friendly?

Cheers

Geoff

So you have a BT account that is not providing an email, it is confusing at
first as a router is designed to have a username and password, and it's BT
who changed the rules somewhat. They should mention the fact that any
pasword can be entered and your router will connect.

Having done this - am I right in thinking that the only way to

One of the reasons people buy a router is because it's supposed to stay on
all the time!
Yes, the web interface may appear to be unfriendly, but you could take the
approach of pulling out the main power from the back if you really need to
have the unit turned off when you are finished.
Cheers

Thanks for your reply ... BT tech support no help - had to wait 20
minutes and really all they say is that they only support the usb
Voyager 100 box.. if they had told me that any password would do that
would have been enough!
