About bloody time an ISP took steps to sort this out, £58 "Activation" is
steep, NTL doesn`t charge installation or modem costs or even "Activation"
fee`s..

Good luck Plusnet..

But NTL do require a chargable engineer visit to deliver and connect
the box.

Correct! A colleague got totally free connection - INCLUDING lots of extra
work digging up the pavement to re-route the cable to the other edge of his
property (list price £400) -from ntl And he didn't have to take phone
or TV from them either!

Not when I signed up...they had to run a cable over the roof and put a box
on the wall to receive the service...they did not charge us for anything,
not even the cable modem...just £24.99 per month to access the 600k service.

Look - he got (according to ntl ~£500 of work with NO charg! That's NO
(zero) installation fee!!!! plus extra work not not supposed to be
even in a "standard" installation.

What's not clear to your little brain?

And thatıs probably why ntl was/are practically bankrupt.

The economics donıt add up .... Perhaps other ISP's want to stay in the
black as far as accounts are concerned ?

Oh now I see where this is going chris, yes NTL do require a "Chargable"
engineer to install the box but this is absorbed by NTL.

Sorry chris, I didn`t allow for irrelevant comments like yours..

Have you been following NTL`s accounts lately? They make good reading.
