Default Latest list of exchanges to be enabled from BT

My exchange isn't on either list (Tibthorpe / MYTIB).

Any idea how many exchanges are left to be enabled after these two lists?

Any idea on the policy for these?

Trevor,

That exchange is currently listed as not viable according to samknows.com
(excellent BB site)

About 600 exchanges - all with 300 or less customers on - about 100,000
people in total

Any idea on the policy for these?

BT are looking at regional susbidies and/or wireless connections as possible
alternatives for these.

Sunil

Is there any way to obtain details on what the rationale is / was for
considering any particular exchange as non-viable?

Our exchange Broadfield - 01763 288XXX is the only exchange in
Hertfordshire to not be updated. All other local exchanges off the main
Royston exchange - 01763 xxxxxx are in the plan. Many of them appear to
share similar characteristics to Broadfield, small building serving small
population clusters, so what is the difference?

To help in any local discussions on how / when / at what cost we can get a
Broadband service it would be extremely usfull to have some of the
background data.

Thanks

Maurice

You can ask BT..

Try Paul Reynolds, BT Wholesale's Chief Executive at BT Centre, 81 Newgate
St, London EC1A 7AJ or even Ben Verwaayen, BT CEO at the same address.

BT have said though that all exchanges without an RFS date have less than
300 customers on them, with some having as low as 7 customers connected.

Even though they appear to be similar - there will be some difference,
otherwise BT would have gone ahead and enabled it

If you (as a group) can find the money, you may still be able be able to get
ADSL based on BT's ADSL Exchange Activate scheme.

Some details are at

Sunil
