Default BT to trial PAYG ADSL

Net users in the UK could be given the choice of paying for broadband access
by the minute if a mini-trial later this summer proves successful.

Instead of users paying a flat fee for their broadband access, BT is giving
punters the chance to pay 5p a minute for the time they spend online. BT
Wholesale is recruiting 50 people from within the company to take part in an
eight-week trial due to begin within the next month or so.

They must be joking! Anything above 13 minutes per day puts you above 20
quid per month - for which you can get an "always on" service!

Yes, I saw a sign in a BT payphone today (effectively) inviting me to stand
in a puddle of **** for 15 minutes for their minimum fee of 30p.

True - but are you suprised at anything BT want to try to pull ?

alnost certainly done in response to a customer request - AOL perhaps
? This is a BT wholesale initiative, their customers are ISPs not
users. Can't imagine users want the 250k service either.
