Vigor DNS proxy response bug?

I think I have discovered the cause of many subtle headaches for Vigor
Please give feedback.
The DNS proxy responses from my Vigor2600 (annex A, 2.5.5_UK)
sometimes carry the source address of the external server instead of
the routers local address.
This seems to be always true for domains with very large DNS
responses. I'd hazard a guess this is 'cos Vigor doesn't bother to
cache them and passes them straight thru.
This will cause many clients, including secondary firewalls such as
ZoneAlarm, and programs such as nslookup to block or ignore the DNS
One such domain is "include.ebaystatic.com" - How many Vigor owners
are trying to hit the ebay web site and wondering what's gone wrong
when they install ZoneAlarm?
Would other people with Vigors like to see if this is true for their
E.g. on most platforms you could try...
server 18.104.22.168 // put your routers local IP addr here
include.ebaystatic.com // any domain with large DNS record
It will time out if the Vigor isnt fixing up the response address.
Set your client's (TCP/IP properties) to use external DNS servers
(they can still get their IP from the Vigor using DHCP if they want
( The primary and secondary DNS server addresses listed on your
Vigor's "Online Status" web page should do for this purpose. )
p.s. I find Ethereal is good tool for seeing what is going on (from
Windows platform anyway).
