Default Plusnet Binaries, How long will it last........

I am currently on pipex 1mb very happy and speeds are all good, im
subscribes to a premium usenet provider at $39.95 every 3 months which works
my pipex connection at 28.95 (thats also if pipex dont put this up, intro
offer)+7 around pm so about 36 pm month for 1mb and amazing binaries. Now
for an xtra 3 I could go to plus net 2mb unlimited service and the buzz at
the moment about there newsgroups seems amazing.

Now with all these people "leeching" as one says aren't this servers going
to become overloaded and then a 10gb cap put in like pipex, what im asking
is it worth migrating or is it pretty much guaranteed that the plusnet
newsgroups are gonna become slow and caps are going to be put in.

the amount of people I have seen migrate to plusnet here and on adslguide is
pretty high and many of them always post to big up there newsgroups but are
plusnet going to lose money on there 2mb service if they have to continually
fund the newsgroups too.

any plusnet staff care to comment!

Not annoyed! Just puzzled as to why you were asking for Plusnet staff
comments via a Pipex newsgroup, that's all. :-)

Probably because it was cross-posted to uk.telecom.broadband.

As for the OP migrating, why not? It's free and Plusnet will even pay
your migration away from them if you aren't happy.

Fairy nuff, I hadn't spotted the cross-post. Although still probably
wishful thinking if he expects ISP staff to comment via that ng either.

I never said a word about that, or even thought one come to that. It is
none of my business, nor do I care.

You paranoid?

I was talking to the OP. I could've posted twice but I decided to
combine it into one.

Hi there,

I can't see us capping the newsgroups. However, with the way BT are
charging for ADSL at present (ie capacity based charging), I think it
will be inevitable that capping on a grand scale will come into place
for your total data transfer and no ISP will be able to afford
subsidising an "Unlimited" service.

Our News servers were recently revamped (about two months ago) and the
feedback fromt his has been superb. We will continue to monitor this
and upgrade as necessary, but this is with all our systems and
networks.

No, we constantly monitor forums and newsgroups for questions like
this and any other queries customers may have.

kind regards

Luke

I think Pipex customers have grown alien to the notion of
communication from their ISP, Luke The sterling support from
Plusnet CS does not go unappreciated, and I hope you win the
well-deserved UK Internet Awards award for customer service.

If there is going to be capping on a grand scale, how are people (ISP's)
like BT going offer video on-demand? they say you need a 2 meg stream for
full quality and surely that involves a lot of data transfer?

Yup, they are brilliant, oops no they arent we dont want any more people
using them

Mike.
