Default [UK-Bug] News .. way too much to fit here

Bit of a largish update this one.

Seems the new look on Bug went down well with pollers too - so we'll
keep it for a while.

Enjoy

*Blueyonder move to a more 'simplified' pricing structure*

Pay this for this, and get that for that, or pay this for that and that.
Sometimes its just nice to pay "this" for "this". Period. And it seems
that Telewest's consumer ISP Blueyonder has been thinking this way too -
releasing details of a more simplistic pricing structure for their
Broadband services.

*NTL to increase cable modem speeds*

NTL have announced that their existing 300K entry level cable modem
service is changing to be 1MB from next year while still costing £17.99
a month along with other price changes.

*Wi-Fi access for £1 a month!!*

Yep that's right BT Openzone are offering 500 minutes of WI-FI access
per month for just a quid!

================================================== ======================
*Pipex Launch 2Mbit Trial*

After BT's recent announcement regarding a 2Mbit trial starting at the
end of this month, Pipex have today annouced their involvement in the trial.

*Carphone Warehouse to launch broadband*

Phone retailer The Carphone Warehouse is planning to expand into the
broadband market, launching a service tomorrow according to a report in
The Telegraph today.

================================================== ======================
*Telewest target dial-up users*

Telewest are hoping to entice it's dial-up customers to switch to ADSL
with an offer saving customers £36 a year, if they join before the end
of November.

================================================== ======================
*NTL to offer 3Mbit & BT quick to respond ?*

According to (not entirely surprising) reports on dedicated cable
broadband resource site CableForum.co.uk, NTL will soon be offering up
to 3Mbit cable broadband connections, due in part to the companies
recent NTL network expansion, costing around £65m that was announced in
September.

================================================== ======================
*AOL knock 10% of its entry level broadband option*

AOL UK has dropped "Broadband Silver"'s monthly subscription down to
£17.99 (inclusive of VAT). The ISPs entry level product comes with no
usage limitations, free setup, and for a limited time (until the end of
2004) a free ADSL modem is included to boot.

================================================== ======================
*SDSL price slash*

Symmetrical DSLs' popularity, which offers an equivalent upstream rate
to that of the downstream rate, might have just received a promotion
boost, thanks to an announcement by Nildram detailing an almost 30%
price slash in the products' monthly price.

Ya know that saying "if I had a quid....". Well I would now be exactly
£104 richer.

It's on its way. Honest.
