Default Virgin broadband issues and alternative

A friend of mine passed away recently and his wife rang Virgin to t/f
the card details to her name. Virgin in their wisdom have disconnected
her BB and despite several phone calls they do not have an answer as
to when she will be reconnected.

What are the alternatives for an alternative ISP who can connect her
BB quickly and what does she need from Virgin to do so please?

She needs to get a MAC code from her old BB provider...

I recommend that she goes for NDO Broadband,
http://www.adslguide.org.uk/isps/ispinfo.asp?isp=ndo ,
who I use and had no problems with them at all...
