My friend has a strange problem with BT Broadband (residential)

It seem she can connect to the internet before 8am, but then up to 5pm she
looses connection, with it then to return to normal after 5pm [Mon-Fri]

No Problems [Sat-Sun]

I have set her a up with a Linksys ADSL Modem Router to split here
connection. It works faultlessly until it hits usual business times, then
won't connect.

I am at a loss, to know what to do.
I think its time to change supplier.
Is anyone else having the same problems

Sounds like a line problem. Changing ISP's won't help.

What you need to do is report it to BT Broadband and get them to send out an
ADSL engineer (preferably when its not working!) and make it clear to them
that it works outside the 8-5pm period.

It sounds like something is interfering with the signal - either another
ADSL line or something else. Can your Linksys ADSL Modem Router provide SNR
readings for when the line is working?

Regards
Sunil

Would there be anything else in the property causing interference?

Remember the Xmas Tree lights scenario!

It is possible that something external nearby which operates during these
times can cause problems.
