Default MAC Address registering

Does anyone know if ISPs (particularly Onetel) register the first use
MAC address that connects to them and from then on only allow that MA
address to go online?

Thanks

It can be done, but not many 'normal' ISP's do this, you need to check
with the specific ISP.

It is used mostly, AIUI, for business users and for very high bandwidth
connections.

PG,

Cable B/B uses MAC address, while xDSL typically uses a Point to Poin
serial protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) or ATM (PPPoA) connection.
believe the MAC that that is seen by the ISP, is the router/modem - no
the PC(s)...
