Default Connexant PCI card loses drivers

when i switch off my PC ,the next time i switch back on again my
connexant ADSL PCI modem does not work . it appears to lose the drivers
so i have to uninstall and then reload them again.
any ideas why this should occur ?

I have had a conexant PCI card installed for three years, and have never had
any trouble with it whatsoever.
