Is there anyway you can find out when an exchange is going to be unbundled?
I know it's only the bigger exchanges first as that makes sense. Every time
I do a check on BE or UKONLINE the date seems to move further on in to the
year.

Since it needs the alternative telecom firm to install equipment (which
will also depend on there being some space made suitable for them by
BT), only the firms can answer. They'll also probably be juggling the
list of installations depending on demand, and if they get several
business requests at some other location, odds are exchanges will be
'pipped at the post', so you have to keep your fingers crossed.

One slight consolation is that if the exchange has no service yet, you
will at least be able to get connected, with relative ease. Someone a
few days ago was asking how come UK Online could not connect him when
they were using Easynet's LLU service and his exchange, Moorgate, is
only 200 metres away... (My guess was business users on SDSL would
have been keen to get service, and likely had been given priority -
SDSL would bring in at least 2000 a year, per connection.) Peter M.

Bear in mind that exchanges don't get unbundled as a whole - it's not
like enabling ADSL. There's no relation between it being unbundled
for one ISP and for another.
