Default Bulldog price changes - a cautionary tale

I'm on Bulldog's BizTime1000 product - standard BT line, no Bulldog
telephony package (no other providers on our exchange at the moment) - and
I've been paying 40/month plus VAT since I got the package last year.

Surfing the Bulldog site last week, I noticed that the same package is now
advertised as 30/month + VAT!

So I rang Customer Services and was told by a nice enough gentleman with a
thick subcontinental accent that I would have to pay 25 to change packages
if I wanted to move to the cheaper option. When I pointed out that it
seemed to be the same package, just a cheaper price, he said he was unable
to make the change. I asked to speak to a supervisor, but was told they
didn't have the authority either, but if I e-mail customer services they
would organise the reduction. Doubtful, but not certain of how else to
proceed, I sent off an e-mail on Friday asking for the reduced price to be
put on my account. Imagine my surprise this morning to receive an e-mail
from customer services confirming I would now be billed the reduced
price...

So remember to keep checking the price of your broadband package, because
the ISP, or at least Bulldog, won't tell you if it goes down.

Cheers I'll try that.
