Default Firewall stopping OE6 functioning

Turning off Symantec Client firewall cures.
MSIMN.exe is listed as permitted as are Ports 25+110.
When firewall active I get this message:
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes
for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Account: '+plus.net', Server: 'mail.plus.net', Protocol:
POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

Advice valued

It's doing you a favour. Install thunderbird instead.
