Default Configuring a router - what ports should be opened?

Won't the routers UPNP deal with all this for most common applications?

Personally I kill UPNP because as Jon points out, opening ports is not
always the best plan, especially when software has control over it.

aargh, don't even go there..

Perfectly safe for a PS2, how could it possibly be hijacked ?

I'm told perfectly safe too for a PS3, though I'm too paranoid to try it.

For the OP, these following ports need to be forwarded for the PS3:-

3478-3479 UDP
3658 UDP
3074-3075 UDP
5223 TCP
