snip Some users in Scotland are limited to satellite internet, think BT
might offer it.. It might be subsised.

I must admit that I thought this product was dead for BT since the SEA
(Scottish Exchange Activation) programme took off, but I could be wrong.
I will investigate tomorrow, if I get time.

Had a bit of time yesterday to look through out portfolio (not much time
admittedly so may have missed something).

Could not find a current satellite broadband service listed anywhere.

On the BT broadband site..

Your exchange has ADSL broadband.

However, despite an engineer's visit to your premises it has been proved not
possible for your telephone line to support broadband service. Please accept
our apologies. We are continuing to look for alternative technology
solutions and this site will be updated with developments as they happen.

Thank you for your interest.

This is 35 miles from central london on the main drag out to suffolk - main
line Liverpool st 25 min.
Still can't quite believe it.. Anything I can do guys?

Paul

Hi Paul how have you got on with this?

I've been looking at Satellite broadband on google, quite a few
companies out there that do it, it's the inital set up that's the killer
though. At least now though it's 2 way, I had a friend who had
satellite and only the download came from the satellite and the upload
had to go through an ordinary phone line.

Just do a search for satellite broadband on google and it brings up
loads of different companies, the cheapest I could find the equipment
was £500 and installation was £395, so it'd have to be a long term
soloution, no good if you're moving in 3 months again!
