Default Trying to get a snom320 to connect to smslisto

I've been trying with only limited success to get a snom320 to connect to
smslisto (or voipcheap or similar). Has anyone achieved this?

I've configured the snom320 with all the recommended settings from the
smslisto web site (http://www.smslisto.com/en/sipp.html, although snom isn't
explicitly listed). At first it seems to succeed, but if I make a call it
gets cut off after a while, and the "System Information" in the snom web
host shows "Network Failure".

Other (more expensive) providers such as voiptalk work fine with the snom
phone.

Smslisto works fine with the PC client.

I'm behind a standard NAT router (supplied by Be Unlimited).

The SIP Trace menu in the snom phone (which doesn't work) shows that a
REGISTER message is being sent out and getting no response at all:
REGISTER sip:sip.smslisto.com SIP/2.0
Via: SIP/2.0/UDP 192.168.1.65:2048;branch=z9hG4bK-5wohsoczevcp;rport

Supported: gruu
Allow-Events: dialog
X-Real-IP: 192.168.1.65

A trace from the SMSlisto client on the PC (which does work) captured using
Wireshark shows an INVITE message is being sent:

Can anyone help? Why is the REGISTER message being ignored? Is there any way
to configure the phone to send an INVITE instead, or an acceptable REGISTER
message?

What version of firmware are you using?

SMSListo doesn't require registration to make outbound calls...

So, I've just set up my SMSListo account on a Snom 360.

I did nothing more than enter my account name, password and
sip.smslisto.com as registrar.

All working perfectly.

Did you remember to disable the SMSListo soft phone?

Hmm, I don't get the "Unauthorized" response when I try it. At first I can
make calls, but when I come back the next day the status has changed to
"network failure" and I can't do anything.

Yes, I've disabled the soft phone.

Hmm, plot thickens. I did a factory reset and then configured smslisto as
the only account, and occasionally I can see a correct response come back.
But the phone keeps sending REGISTER messages and most of the time there's
no response (or "unauthorised" as you found).

I get the same results with other Betamax hosts, unsurprisingly. But the
more expensive ones such as voiptalk work OK so far.

Snom support have been fairly useless so far, asking me a string of dumb
questions such as "how do I call from one test account to the other?" and
making zero progress after about 20 emails.

I don't recall ever getting "unauthorised"....though I have slept a few
times since your OP.

Have you tried it with a different, earlier, firmware?

Post your (censored) settings file somewhere for me/others to look at.

:2115 --- Here's one error
Your phone is sending the server his internal IP, and an odd port too.
Set a STUN server to let the phone know his external IP and properly
complete the SIP packets.
Force the SIP port to 5060 in the advanced settings, and forward port
5060 to your phone IP - BTW, assign the phone a static IP outside your
DHCP range.
Alternatively, let everything to factory standard, set the minimal
settings (username, password, registrar) *and* set sip.smslisto.com as
your outbound proxy.
SNOM phones are extremely flexible and powerful, with so many parameters
to set and tweak I got burnt a couple of times before getting the grips
with them.
If you send here the settings (copy and paste from the GUI) I might be
able to come back to you with a couple of corrections.
