Default Orange Home Broadband

I've been looking at Orange Home Broadband (home max)

Does anyone have any opinions on the service, quality of the second
line, fair usage policy (phone and data), technical support, equipment
supplied etc.

They used to - and maybe still have - a 5 Meg limit on incoming email
attachments.
That may or may not be a problem for you.
I'd check this out in their terms and conditions if I were you.

Orange fair use policy on ADSL Broaband is 40GB a month, strictly
enforced. I know a couple of people who have had their broadband
terminated, in each case 40GB/month was announed as the fair use
limit.

Second line is absolutly fine, tech support is in India and poor,
equipment is a Thomson LiveBox, perfectly adequate, but no good for
tweaking.

For the rest of your questions, looking through the posts at
orangeproblems.co.uk might help.

How does this service compare with other broadband and phone packages?

I need up to 50Gb with NO restrictions

Then you need O2/BE. O2 give a £5/month discount if you have a O2
mobile, making it cheaper than most - £7.50 for an 8MB ADSL2
connection. They do have a fair use policy but as they've never used
it, it's going to be in the hundreads of MB a month.

An alternative if you have Sky TV is their Max broadband package, no
fair use policy.
