Default Slow DNS updates

Anybody here using OpenDNS?

We updated the "A" record for www.compass-ifs.co.uk on Monday. Most
people see the new IP address(46.20.229.169), but some don't.

Specifically, using nslookup with resolver2.opendns.com shows the old
value (83.170.75.219), and
http://whois.domaintools.com/compass-ifs.co.uk also shows the wrong value.

So far a I understand the maximum propagation time is 72 hours, which is
up now.

What do you all see, please?

timeout depends on:

what the original SOA timeout was
whether nameservers honour it.
whether your resolver honours it.

Specifically, using nslookup with resolver2.opendns.com shows the old
value (83.170.75.219), and
http://whois.domaintools.com/compass-ifs.co.uk also shows the wrong

Thanks. At least resolver2.opendns.com now has it.

Interestingly http://whois.domaintools.com/compass-ifs.co.uk continues
to show the old value. Perhaps they cache it also ...?

My guess is that our hosting service did not actually update the "A"
record on Monday, but only did so when they were reminded yesterday
morning ....!

A123reg usually update within seconds. I.e added sub domains and changed
stuff, reloaded my dns server to clear its cacxhe and the new stuff is
right there.

Or was the account being handled elsewhere?
