Default BT mail server problem?

Anybody else seeing problems sending via
smtp.outlook.com using port 587, SMTP authentication, SSL

????

Has worked since 17/07/2012 but has stopped this morning. Error message:

'Your server does not support the connection encryption type you have
specified.'

Trying either TLS or Auto results in complaints about wrong password.

Has BT screwed up their server?

It's working OK for me using the default settings.

It's working again now ...

Later in the day yesterday another user with a @btconnect.com email
address and who uses smtp.outlook.com reported the same failure.

The first user has seen the same problem come back this morning.

BT website claims problem was cured yesterday, see:

But it is clearly still present.
