Bhtee responsible for making UK worst country in developed world for FTTH

http://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.php...d-ranking.html

Even near third world nations such as Portugal beats UK by a million mile.

So the plan is?

Plod on weeping like girlies requesting more money from state hand outs
to roll out FTTH?

Sounds reasonable. If you are a weepy girly. Or a gurl called Bhtee.

Or lets degulate, and unbundle fiber, and break up bhtee all into
little pieces, and allow local councils to run their fiber
infrastructure and make it illegal for private companies to
sue local authorities, all the same time.

The game has now changed yet again.
Gigabit cities are popping up everywhere sapping up all new business.

Not much in the way in UK however for any kind of fiber, like kilobit
fiber, or megabit fiber while the rest of the world now does Gigabit fiber.

NEVER AGAIN should monopolies like Bhtee should be set up to telecoms
and fiber provisions without competition at all levels.

I was a bit suspicious of the table on that link. 40% of homes in
Uruguay with fibre connection?

I know the UAE is very wealthy but 70% with fibre to the home?

I've always ignored his 'observations' on the grounds that he appears to
be frightened to actually name the company he is clearly knocking.

Without wishing to confirm or deny that figure, 70% of the population
lives in one of the four major cities, which are much easier to connect
up with fibre than the Welsh Valleys. In total it's 88% urbanised.

Having worked and visited there many times, I'm surprised the figure is
as low as 70% !

They abandoned terrestrial TV in Dubai because a: Everyone had 'cable',
and b: few could get a decent signal because of all the skyscrapers.
