I've used Draytek routers and VOIP for the last 15+ years and the advice
has always been to disable ALG. Previously it had to be done by command
line but now it's a GUI menu option.
Waking up once again to the Gigaset box and phones displaying "failure
to register" but it being rectified with a router re-boot I'm wondering
whether Draytek have improved their implementation of ALG and whether it
would now be considered more beneficial than being the liability it's
always been labelled?
Has anyone tried it and kept it switched on over the last few years and
found it now does what it was supposed to do, or at least doesn't cause
an increase in VoIP issues?
