you have to pay an activation fee, but you have to remember that all ISPs
have to pay this to BT, so you will pay this somehow whoever you sign-up

which modem/router - adsl ????

i have the usr 9003, about 80 from ebuyer.co.uk.
It has a built in firewall, 1 usb and 2 10/100 ethernet ports.
You can just plug it in, set your dialup settings and connect as DHCP is set

What's the point of 55MB/s wireless networking at home?

us robotics wireless access point and pc card are 22mbps and usr provide
free upgrade to 54mbps.
with 11mbps, a typical rate as i have read for 802.11b is around 4-5 mbps,
and with 22mpbs is around...

usr 9003 router help part 2

Also, i can get it to work using a Dynamic IP, but if i set my Pc with a
fixed IP, I cant get it to work.
I have played with the settings to no avail.
