Hi
I am considering buying the Netgear DG834G Wireless ADSL Modem and
Router as recommended in a previus thread. I would like know how I
check my ISP settings when setting up the machine. My ISP is Wanadoo
and I am currently using the Wanadoo box.
Second question. For my wireless network will I need any other
hardware? My Win ME PC had a LAN card and ethernet cable and my Win XP

I have a PC, running Win ME, with a LAN Card connected to the Wanadoo
box via an ethernet cable.
I have a laptop, running Win XP, that is connected to the Wanadoo box
via an internal wireless adaptor.
How can I set-up file & printer sharing between the two machines?
Many thanks

| | Update: Netgear WG511, DG384G and WPA security by
Paul D.Smith
All,
Just to let you know that with the latest versions of software from the
Netgear site, I got WPA-PSK to work between these two adapters using:
- No transmit SSID
- WPA-PSK (both only support TKIP)
- 32 character passphrase.
If I went over 32 characters, connections went from stable to patchy to

I bought a Dlink 904 wireless kit today and I have a very strange problem
with it, I am hoping someone can help.
I have setup the connection to 1 PC, 1 laptop and an xbox and the network
works fine (apart from file sharing which does not work). But as soon as I
enable wep security, the connection fails.
I go into the router admin and select WEP security and enter a hex code key
password. It...

Anyone offer recommendations on a Wi-Fi signal boosting system for a
domestic install?
The router is in a workshop down the garden, and the signal in the house
just needs to be a bit stronger than it is in some areas.
Its a Draytek 2600G wireless router with 2 antennae, and I can only see
single antenna solutions?

Bother - I meant to cross-post!
All,
I've been having problems with WPA-PSK and it has been suggested to me
that
I should reduce the passphrase length. I will try this, but having tried
to
find out more about WPA, I'm not sure why this would help (although I'm

I've got dialup AOL and am going to changeover to BB. I'm going to stick with
AOL, to see what it's like (I've heard different opinions on AOLBB, but it's
too much hassle to move over to something else right now).
I am aware that AOL don't support BB for Mac, but have been told it is
possible to get round it, and if I network with PC it won't matter.
Does anyone know of good wireless...

I am about to get broadband at long last, and the house we're moving to
has two rooms already connected by cable, with sockets in each of the two
rooms.
What I'd like to do is connect the 2 PCs in these 2 rooms by wire, but
use a laptop elsewhere in the house wirelessly.
The Belkin F5D7630 gets good reviews, and I like Belkin stuff. It would
appear to be the right piece of kit to do the...
