| | Wireless connection dropping by
Martin
I have a Netgear DG811 modem/router with a Belkin 54G wireless access
point plugged into it. My main PC is plugged direct into the router.
I've just built a new PC which has WiFi on the motherboard. It sees and
connects to the wireless network with no problems, and it can see shared
drives from the main PC. However, if I try and copy large numbers of
files across to the new PC, I only manage...

I currently run a Netgear DG834G as my router connected to ADSL and

My question is;

Peter Kirk
Hi there
I want to set up a home network, with access to the internet. I want my
network to have several cabled outlets (say up to 8 spread around the
various rooms in my house), and also wireless access.
I am not quite sure exactly what network equipment I need to buy to realise
this.
I will either use an ISP which delivers via cable or one which delivers ADSL

Hi There,
I have a PC that is running on a local area network, that I use as the main
server. I connect to this regularly and use it as my main stay PC. It has
all my documents and files, etc etc on there. Just recently I have been
advised that other people on the LAN may be able to access the Remote
Desktop of my server. I've done all the obvious stuff like use a password

Hi,
Has anyone managed to get MSN to work via CCProxy or indeed any other proxy
software, as I have tried many times to get MSN Messenger/Windows Messenger
to work via proxy and all have failed miserably. How come microsoft can't
make a version that works via a proxy server? Seems daft to me, when
everything else under the sun works just fine via proxy.. Does anyone know
how to make MSN...

| | Default Gateway on DG834G? by
John
Wonder if anyone can help me, I have a DG834G which is set up as 192.168.0.1
on my network, this presumably makes the default gateway 192.168.0.1. Is
there any way of making the default gateway something else, without changing
the IP address of the DG834G from 192.168.0.1?
Is the default gateway always the address of the modem/router? Can it be
changed? If so, how would I do...

| | WPA-PSK, Netgear WG511 & DG384G by
Paul D.Smith
Anyone got this working fully? I don't seem to be able to configure long
(40 character) key phrases. If I do then I never get a connection.
I'm using DG384G v1.05.00 and WG511 v3.00.
Also, any idea why the WG511 (supposedly) allows 8-63 characters whilst the
DG384G allows 8-64 (63 vs 64!).
Thanks,
Paul DS.

Do any PCI wireless network adapters have Wake on LAN - via PCI bus, or

I have just bought a new PC fromTiny, unfortunately the instructions are not

It has a MSI 'Wireless Software Router' which is really confusing me. It can

If I try to check its properties, everything is greyed out and a message
says that Windows is looking after it.
I have tried to set it to Access Point mode to just connect my laptop to my

Tiny Tim
My homebuilt media centre PC is wired to my DG834G router and I connect to
that from my laptop over a wireless connection. Several of the
drives/folders on the server are shared and I have permanent drive mappings
to these defined on the laptop - e.g. M:Music, P:Pictures, S:Software,
V:Video etc..
But access to these drives seems to appear and disappear at random and I
haven't a clue why....

Can anyone tell me if WPA-PSK (TKIP) changes the key automatically, of is
auto key changing only available with RADIUS SERVER?
I am just wanting to know, as I have recently started using WPA-PSK on my

automatically changed by the system, or if it remains the same all the time?
