I recently replaced by Belkin modem/router with the BT Voyager product (the
2100). I have the full BT Broadband ADSL package (512K).
It set-up without any problems and connected OK but I am getting chronic
Internet speeds. It takes about 10 seconds for a web page to appear and my
download speed is around 8kb/s.
I have Belkin cards in my desktop machine and a BT card in my wife's laptop.

Hi all,
I want to get a site up and running using these low maintanance boxes.
There are two I am thinking of: Net Pilot http://www.netpilot.com
and Net Inter-Net http://www.kyzo.com. Just wondering whether
anyone has experience of any of these?

Hi Guys,
Sorry for yet another 'What do I need' kinda post but the wireless
networking thing is really confusing me at the moment!
All I'm looking to do is to share internet access and a few files between a
desktop and a laptop both running Windows XP (SP2). The desktop PC is on
and connected nearly all the time so do I necessarily need a router or
wireless modem? I'm currently using ICS...

| | Linksys Wireless Network - Webstar Cable modem by
Phil Sturgeon
Hey,
I have tried everything, and I cannot get the router to connect to the
modem. Them modem works fine, and so does the router, I just dont know
enough about IP/Gateway/etc settings to do this.
I am sure this has been answered, but can anybody tell me what settings
I need to configure in to get a wireless router talking to a blueyonder
cable modem?

My current two comps use Windows95 and WindowsME. I expect to add a laptop
with WindowsXP and want to have the three running on a WiFi network.
Can someone advise me whether a router would deal with these three different
systems and if so, what I need add to the present two computers to make them
able to receive the signals.
Advice would be appreciated.

Help?
Wired router to PC and configuration/setup seemed to go without any problem.
I want to share broadband/files etc with daughters laptop, which has network
PC card. Please excuse my lack of knowledge, but do I have to now wire the
laptop and run the linksys configuration/setup again on that before she can
go wireless?
Thanks for any help,
Del.

| | Newbie - Wirelessly Networking Printers by
welshuser
Got 3 printers to share across small wireless network. Been advised to link
all 3 to 1 pc and use that pc for (amongs other things) printer sharing.
However, that means the PC will have to be permanently on to give me access
to the printers as and when needed. Any other solution that will allow just
the printers to remain on and nothing more?
thanks a lot.

Hi
Have 2 PC's, one laptop, one desktop. The laptop has Win XP Pro, the desktop
has Win XP Home. Laptop is using a "domain" to logon to Work network,
Desktop has a workgroup.
In the home I use Netgear 834G router, via wireless connection. Although the
laptop and the desktop PC can connect to the internet via the router,

Whilst working online the other day connected to a server 150mls away,
something printed out on my printer, and it was someone printing from the
distant office.
It made me think, how do I know they can't access my PC?
Or how do I ensure they don't?

Trevor Appleton
We are shortly about to get broadband by wireless/satellite (community
system).
The provider says there is an extra charge of £5 per month for each extra
computer.
I currently connect 3 PC's via a router to an ISDN ISP. Two PC's are
connected by cable to the router the other is bluetooth wireless.
I can't imagine how the new set up will work?

Had a similar problem and reset the hub/switch and it all worked
again.
Does it work if you switch off the firewall?
Have you installed SP2?

I have a Netgear DG384G upgraded to firmware release 1.04. I keep getting
a drop in my internet connection every fifteen minutes or so on average on
my PC and laptop, both of which connect to the network via Belkin wireless

I didn't have this problem originally, and I can't determine any changes I
have made that coincide with when the problem started. I am running

Hi Folks,
I've got a D-Link DSL-504 but have recently bought a new latop with
a wireless connection. So I want to plug something wireless into my
DSL-504 so I can use the wireless connection. Do I need a bridge or a
wireless access point? And whatever gizmo I plug into the DSL-504 what
IP address will it be assigned?
Cheers
James.
