topsy turvey belkin? by Mike Scott
Has anyone else tried to wall-mount a belkin WAP, the model f5d7130? Having just looked at this, it seems that as supplied, it will only mount with the aerials pointing *downwards*. Doesn't seem to affect performance, but looks decidedly odd :-)

Can I Connect 2 WAP's? by Jeff Gaines
I have a Linksys wireless-G broadband router that currently just acts as a WAP and router, I use ISDN for Internet access. Broadband is on the way and I think I will get a Draytek wireless router/modem. Will it be possible to join the Linksys and Draytek with a cable so that I can locate the Linksys on one side of the house and the Draytek on the other to give me better wireless cover? The...

Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) dial-up throughput speed by Martin Underwood
I've just enabled ICS on my XP Home (SP2) PC to allow a couple of other networked computers (Win 98) to have internet connections until I get ADSL and a router. I'm interested in the data-transfer speed that the XP (router) PC shows. Before, when I browsed the web, downloaded email etc, the Networking tab of Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del) for the dial-up connection typically showed a graph...

108mbps products by mike
I'm confused, in order to benefit from super G wireless products, do they all need to be the same brand? and if not, how do you know certain products from one brand are compatiable with ones from another?

Home network shopping list needed by rat
My current setup is three PC's (two upstairs, one down) networked by standard cables to a standalone broadband modem/router with a 1meg connection, which sits on top of the one downstairs. But I need advice about what I want to do, which is to extend the network availability out into a shed which I'm kitting out as a workshop. I'd like to put four network access points in there. (The maximum...

Already have 10/100 card installed and USB ADSL modem - cheapest way to wi-fi network? by Si
Hi, As I already have a 10/100 card installed and a USB ADSL modem, what's the cheapest way to share my internet connection with a PDA? Do I need an access point for the PC and a wi-fi card for the PDA? Or can I just use a USB wireless adapter for the PC together with a wi-fi card for the PDA? Do I then turn on ICS and share my existing connection?

ADSL modem router to connect home to office by me@privacy.net
Trying to figure out the most suitable unit to allow me to connect to the office's network via its Draytek Vigor 2600. This has been configured for VPN connection & three colleagues already connect using ADSL modems. I need a router as I will be connecting from a desktop & a notebook. I've been told by two potential suppliers that I need to buy a Vigor 2600+. This is £40 more than the base...

belkin access point - IP gateway??? by Mike Scott
I've just been setting up a new belkin f5d7130 wireless access point. It appears that you can't specify an IP gateway for this, and that if you want to use the web-based setup, the web client has to be on the same subnet. Irritating if so; am I missing something here?

wireless on, wireless off... by Not Me
Hi, Just to simplify a previous post... I have a belkin adsl modem/wireless router, and connect to it from various desktop/laptop machines. The current problem seems to be that a signal is detected, for maybe 3 seconds, then it vanishes.. then it's detected again, and vanishes.. this goes on and on and it can't hold a connection at all. While this

Two wireless adapters - will it work? by Euclid
At the present time I have 2 PCs sharing my Broadband connection through a long Cat5 UTP crossover cable. My modem is connected to the server machine through a USB port. Apart from an occasional funny with XP ICS, it works well and always has done. What I am hoping to do is to install a wirelessG PCI card in the server, and use a USB dongle adapter in the slave machine, making the server machine...

lan problems by metal@freeinternet.com
Hi I am new to all this and am a little lost. I have just bought a Dynamode ASDL router/modem in one box. My ADSL account went live and I managed to set up the Dynamode with the details sent to me - though it was not obvious at all what I had to do. The problem I have is that I've had to do all this though the USb cable as
