Leave Netgear Rangemax powered on? by alexanderd79@googlemail.com
I have a netgear rangemax DG834N router at home which works fine with my macbook. I turn the power off when I go to work but when I power it back on at night, my macbook won't see the network name. It's not a problem with the macbook because it picks up other wireless networks in the area. If I reset the router the network appears again. Question is, is it safe to leave the router on all...

802.1X connection drops at client end by Jim
Hi- I'm trying to work out what's wrong with my home wireless networking. I bought a Belkin wireless G router (model F5D7230-4) and a Belkin wireless G pci card (current version 5.87.19.106) for my pc. Using 802.1g setting with encryption, my pc would drop the connection regularly, even when uninstalling Belkin's own client network software and using xp's own wireless networking software.

Ive just swapped a linksys wrt54g cable router for a new dlink dir-655 router. It has 4 gigabit lan ports. So far testing wireless I can get decent speeds on that but the unexpected part is my one wired desktop now gets really poor speeds. Ive turned off all the routers qos and other features that may affect performance and can reach above 500Kbps on wireless. (Wireless G) The problem is...

Mac on a PC network by Alan
I have been running 3 PC's on a wired network running XP pro with no problems. I have just got a new Mac notebook and it picks up the network with no problem and can transfer files to the 3 PCs with no problem. However the 3 pc's do not pick up the Mac on the network even if it is connected by cable or wireless to the router. I have tried using XP on the MAC using Parallels but when I do that...
