| | beginner's questions on network install by
Rob
Hi there,
I have a few beginner's questions and wondered if anyone could help. Feel
free to point out any glaring errors in my plans.
I want to network up my house. I'm planning of having 10 network points
around the house.
So I think I am right in saying that I need to buy 10 RJ45 front plates, and
each front plate requires its own back box?

| | Slightly OT - remote connection by
Steve O
Hi group.
Now that I have a static IP, could someone point me towards a site showing
how I can connect to my PC from another machine elsewhere?
It's connected via a router on my home network if that makes a difference.
Google doesn't seem to understand my question :-(
Cheers

| | Ethernet over telephone extension reel? by
Bill Godfrey
Hello uchn-lings everywhere.
I've got a 20 meter cat5/rj45 cable which I use to run to my patio. (So I
can't leave it outside.) When I gather it up or wind it out, it often gets
tangled up.
From my V90 days, I have a rather nice telephone extension reel (much like
this one http://www.homestead.co.uk/extel.htm ) Because it winds up and is
self contained, I'd much rather use this one.

| | Problems with WAG54G or WUSB54G by
Andy Pandy
I have both the above products from Linksys. The WAG54G being the
modem/router, the WUSB54G being the 54G USB network adapter.
Lately I've started getting problems where the connection drops quite
frequently and when I look at the task bar icon for the adapter connection,
it seems to have dropped down to showing 2mb/s.
This seems to be random and I've been trying to pin it down to a number...
