using a Win2K PC as a server and WinXP as the client, for ICS purposes
is there a program I can use to start/control programs on the server
(to run on the
server) from the client machine ?
Take a look at VNC. It will allow you to take complete control of either
machine from the other.

| | Wireless Newbie - Quick question! by
ashnewstead
I would like to create a wireless network at home.. I have a desktop PC, and
a laptop which gets used in various places around the house. What I need to
know is the following:
1) Can I just buy a PCI wireless card for the desktop and a PCMCIA wireless
card for the laptop and get them to talk to each other? I realise that
there's different standards, and presumably I'd have to make sure they...

there was something about it either in PC Pro or tomshardware (i think i may
have seen it on both) a while back,
i would recommend giving them them static ips not DHCP.

Does any one have any comments on this or any other models that might be

802.11a/g support would be good, but not strictly necessary.
Any comments appreciated.

Up until a few months ago I was using a crappy generic adsl modem/router to
connect my 2 PCs and 2 laptops to the internet and each other. When this
died I thought I would push the boat out and splurge £100 on a Netgear DG814
router.
Since installing this the pcs all connect to the internet but I cannot get
them to network with one another.
the network kinda looks like this:

| | Remote access to DSL-504 router? by
Jez
We have a small LAN at work with broadband and a D_Link DSL-504
router. I have broadband (with Netgear 824M router) at my home and I
want to access the LAN using PC Anywhere (or similar). D-Link tech
support seem vague and somewhat inconsistant with their advice on the
DSL router setup. Any advice would be very much appreciated.
