| | linksys WAP11v2.2 as a scanner ? by
Thebluenowhere01
Hello all
I have a linksys WAP11v2.2 wireless access point, I use it with my laptop
around the house. With my laptop I can do a scan of the Wifi channels looking
to see what networks are available. Is there anyway to do this with my linksys
WAP11v2.2. The reason I ask is the linksys has an external aerial, and may well
pick up other Wifi that my laptop can not hear.
Many thanks

| | PC keeps crashing ! by
Quantum Sleep
My PC keeps crashing. It says
"This shutdown is initiated by NT AUTHORITY/SYSTEM"
"Windows must restart because the Remote Procedure Called (RPC) terminated
unexpectedly."
I've resinstalled Windows and still it keeps happening. I don't have a
firewall installed at the moment, could this be a DOS attack ? Anyone any
idea whats going on ?

| | Home network! by
Danny
Hi,
I currently have 5 pc's that I want to share between an NTL broadband
connection. My question is which would be the best way to connect them all
and share the broadband feed?! Would using a router work without setting up
ICS, as you would have to do if you were using a standard hub?! I'm thinking
that I won't need a broadband router with a built in modem as the STB
already acts as that. So...

| | 11b 0r 54g? Which d'ya think for me? by
PhilM
Hi all
I'm torn between going for the newer 54g or the older 11b wireless set up for
my impending ADSL home set up.
I initially thought I'd pay the extra for the 54g but it is 'significantly'
dearer to get everything from scratch for this rather than 11b stuff, which
in itself, is quite a bit of outlay that I'm gonna have to convince my 'other
half' is necessary for when we get our exchange...

| | Router == Access Point? by
Stuart Dennett
Since I can't get a good wireless signal in my room, I might have to buy a
wireless access point to repeat the signal from the router, and put it in a
room between my computer and the router.
Both my card and the router are Belkin 54g, so I would buy another Belkin
product to save any hassles. The question is, why would I buy an access
point when a router costs the same price e.g....

tHatDudeUK
Hi,
Is the Draytek worth the extra money? What can it do that the Speedtouch
can't?
I'm looking for a router with built in firewall and a built in 4 port switch
as I may make use of it in the future.
I also might like to use a DynDNS service so inbuilt support for that would
be nice.
