Can someone please explain how I get a Linksys 4 port router (model BEF ???)
to work with the Webstar DPX100 broadband modem, supplied by Blue Yonder.
This is a friends set-up, which at the moment has three PC's connected via a

connected via USB, but it has got an Ethernet port built into it. I followed

Hiya,
Can someone help me with ICS?
I have 2 PCs. My P4 is connected to an NTL set top box via a USB adaptor.
This appears as a network adaptor and works fine. The motherboard has a LAN
connector.
My P3 has a LAN card installed and I connected the 2 LAN connections with a
crossover cable. I enabled TCP/IP and NetBEUI and shared the internet

fine for a while. IP addresses are allocated from a D-Link 504 DSL
modem/router/switch. All machines can access the web, all are on the same
workgroup.
BUT once in a while some of the PCs just disappear from network

Chris
Why when I use the WOL feature to wake my PC (which has the networks
Internet connection) from standby does the internet connection only stay
open for a short period of time (2-3mins) before I can no longer connect to
the internet. When the connection closes I need to physically wake the
internet computer before I can carry on working

What sort of problems are you having? I've know people on NTL with this
model who've not had any problems.

I seem to get the impossible ones. I've just bought an NF7/S-based
machine. This currently has the on-board nic, plus a £5 wonder nic I
bought as a spare, and I've been looking at network speeds. The
server is a Duron800/win98se, and no slouch as a file server (although
I see the same problems with another slower server); connections are
via a cheapish 100Mb switch (surecom ep808ax). I've...
