Jeffrey Bruce
Time out!
Is it possible to take a break from the hustle of the rat race and sit on
the sidelines and relax for just a moment?
The pressure that many are under to produce each day is enormous. Job &
family demands alone have most people stretched to capacity.
"Do most people operate each day from a creative place that uplifts and

| | BT Home Hub by
Jack Ouzzi
Just moved home and unfortunately BT seems one of the economical ways
to manage my phone and broadband package ... not a HUGE BT fan but
there you go.
My BT Home Hub duly arrived but was I suprised to see only WEP 64 bit
security, and the usual standard Admin - Password (or whatever) to
access the router - took one look at the spec and put it all back in
the box - not sure if you can change the...

| | Using two wireless routers by
Les Matthew
I have two wireless routers, a Netgear DG834G v4 and a BT Voyager 2091
that I've flashed with the unlocked D-Link firmware.
The Netgear is the main one used for internet and home network but is it
possible to use the 2091 connected to another PC like a wireless network
card accessing the internet and my home network via the Netgear.
If this is possible does anyone know how or point me to a...

| | Can BT Voyager 220 router be re-flashed so it works with non-BT ADSL? by
Mortimer
I have a BT Voyager 220 router which I acquired when a customer was
replacing it with a Home Hub to allow him to use BT Vision.
The router seems to be programmed only to work with BT Internet ADSL: when I
try to change the ADSL username and password to any other ISP's values that
relate to the line which I am connecting it to, I get a message saying that
the router is locked to BT...

| | Port forwarding suddenly stopped working by
Rifleman
Hi.
I am running an HP Mediaserver with Windows Home Server.
Router is a Netgear WNR854T which is UPnP compatible.
ISP is virgin media and I'm on the XL package.
I use Kaspersky Internet Security 2007 but disabling this doesn't solve the
problem.
The HP server requires port forwarding to be set for ports 80,443 and 4125.
All of this was working fine, I could access the HP Server from work no

| | New router and Netgear SC101 by
Cheeky
I've had to switch routers and now my Netgear SC101 is telling me
that, essentially, it is unformatted and I have to start again.
The two routers have slightly different set-ups (one Belkin and one
D-Link) and different IP addresses - one is 192.168.2.x and the other
192.168.1.x .
Is there any way I can get the drive recognised again or di I have to
start from scratch?

Hi everyone,
We have 4 PC's all connected wirelessly to a netgear DG834GT router and
my question is this: Is there a software program that will enable me to
tell what time each individual PC is used to assess the Internet during
a 24 hour period please?
Many thanks,
John.

| | Strange MTU Problem by
Geoff Lane
I run a small home network with two older Linux machines and an XP laptop.
Recently I ran a Windows network analysis tool and after testing various
URLs it reported my best MTU to be 1500, as this is the default for ADSL
I thought nothing of it and set my router to 1500 (It had been 1472).
Everything appeared to be fine, web surfing OK, receiving mail OK but
had a problem sending emails with...

| | Speed up network file copying in Vista by
Conor
Apparently Vista implements TCP "autotuning" which many routers don't
like and it's resulting in monolothic file copying times across a
network. Turning off the autotuning can result in file copy times
significantly faster than XP!!
This will only work if you have installed SP1 on Vista.
Open an Administrative Command window (Start, All Programs,
Accessories, right click on Command Prompt...

software? Much searching of the web...

| | Connecting a beige G3 (OS9.2) wirelessly to the net by
pfgpowell
I have three computers, a G4 Quicksilver, a beige G3 tower running
OS9.2, and a Dell running Windows (there are good reasons for having
all three, plus I keep the G3 because all my software is OS9.2 and I
don’t want to spend money getting the OSX versions for software I
rarely use). The G4 and the Dell connect to the internet wirelessly
using USB dongles, but the G3 is connected to to the router...

| | Panasonic BB-HCM581 IP Network Camera Review by
helen3942@yahoo.com
Here's what the manufacturer says about this camera, which we bought
the other day for 630 quid (including VAT & delivery) from Network
Webcams.

And here's our opinion after two days testing.
BB-HCM581 is a PoE device; so it doesn't come with a DC power supply:
one can be ordered at additional cost. We just...
