| | Network passwords won't store by
Jeff
Hi,
Having probs with a new laptop running XP Media Centre Edition. We have
a password protected share on the network and it refuses to remember the
login / password. Looked in the "stored user names and passwords"
function of the user account and none are listed, and there isn't an
option to add one!
The user is logging in (on the laptop) with an account that has admin
privileges.

Hi,
I have a 3 com 3CRWE754G72 ADSL Wireless 11g router with firewall. I need to
open ports 5060 and 5061 to use with my VOIP box. There's a folder Special
Aplications, which should open the port. It asks me to enter:
1 Specify the trigger port (the one used by the application when it is
initialized) in the Trigger Port column, and specify whether the trigger is
TCP or UDP.

I'm soon getting a desktop replacement laptop, and I then intend to use
my desktop PC as my home network backup machine, running all my files
from my laptop.
I'm not in a position to run a domain (lack of software, lack of funds,
lack of enthusiasm) but merely a workgroup, and therefore i would like a
util that does something similar to what 'offline files' does when using
a domain - that...

I have 2 laptops(both macs) connected to the same wireless network.
Today I wanted to transfer a large file from one to the other so I got a
crossover a cable and connect the two laptops directly to each other.
I wasn't exactly sure what would happen, it seems as though when I
transfered the file they used the slow wifi connection. I had to disable
wifi on one of the laptops in order to...

When I first switched on the laptop it detected this wireless network

I want to assign a local IP to my PC running XP Pro. My wireless router
gets it's IP and DNS servers automatically from my ISP.
So I go into my network connections, right click properties on my
wireless connection and go into TCP/IP and check 'use the following IP
address'
I enter 192.168.1.70, 255.255.255.0 and 192.168.1.1. Then I leave the
DNS servers blank as my router gets them...

| | Homeplug networking and sockets by
Andy Pandy
Does anyone have any experience of homeplug networking and changing the
electrical sockets? Wife wants to change from standard white plastic sockets
to brass, flush screwless sockets. Apparently the fronts of these fix on to
the back magnetically and I wondered if this might affect the electrical
signal in any way?

I've recently acquired a laptop, and am trying to replace my Speedtouch

I have assume that I do not already have a connection/modem, and I have
