| | WAP addition to wired network by
Robert
Grateful for advice on establishing simple wireless access from an Axis
207W wireless network camera to my existing wired network which uses a
Draytek Vigor 2500 as a hub.
As I see it I could just replace the 2500 with a wireless router but
this seems an expensive solution if I want to stick with Draytek (I have
been very impressed by the reliability and simplicity of the 2500).
Having done...

Can anyone recommend any NTP server within the AOL system? I get the
impression that NTP requests are filtered when using certain DSL IP
assignments but not others, so it's uneven whether an NTP request gets a
response. Does anyone know of any NTP server within AOL (or even...

Hi,
I'm a regular browser of the BBC's web sites but all of a sudden I
couldn't connect to www.bbc.co.uk (and only that server). I normally
use Firefox and thinking maybe I had somehow, inadvertently blocked the
site I tried IE with the same result. Then I tried VisualRoute and it
found the server but displayed the message: "Connections to HTTP port
80 are being refused". I assumed that that...

My computer has an 80gig hard drive, I have three accounts set up in

I have been into Windows explorer, checked the accounts and counted the

it comes to no more than 15Gig, I cannot find the extra...

| | LAN DNS Problem? by
Andy Hoe
Hello, I have a machine on my home network which I want to use as a
small web server. Originally it was getting its IP from the router's
DHCP which was 192.168.2.12 and as I am now enabling port forwarding on
my router I wanted to give it a static IP which I did outside of my DHCP
range of 192.168.2.251.
This mostly works fine but now I cannot contact this machine by name
(server). When I...

i received the mail confirming a speed upgrade to 8Mbps from virgin:
Line Speed: Up to 8192 Kbps
If you have requested a broadband speed upgrade:
Your new broadband speed upgrade is now active on your phone line. For it
to take effect, you need to reboot your computer and reconnect to
Virgin.net Broadband. If you use a router, you will need to reboot your
computer and router and reconnect to...

I have a lan (4pcs/win xp) that connect to a domain on the server

Any pc on the lan can therefore log onto the server.
If I replace the adsl router, for a adsl router with VPN capability, can I
then log onto the server domain from PC connected to the internet (i.e not
on the lan)?
Would this require any configuration on the server? Or would the VPN router

Andrew Hodgson
Hi,
I am looking to buy a network homeplug twin pack to get somewhere
where wireless can't reach. I don't mind whether it is 14 mbps, but I
don't want to pay the earth.
Is it possible to mix manufacturer's or not with these items?
Looking to pay around £30 for the pair, is this realistic?

I bought a wireless router, and that works fine when cabled to desktop
PC's. I want to connect a laptop using a wireless card. That's ok for
cable but the wireless card never has any LED lit up. Surely the card
should light up.
I tried another with the same result.
XP on all machines.

Rob Convery
A friend has upgraded his router to a ADSL2+ compatible one to get the most
out of his connection. He now has a Netgrear DG384G which works great.
Is there a way of using his old Speedtouch 580 as a wireless bridge/repeater
i.e. use the speedtouch downstairs with hardwire connections to a number of
consoles and then get it to wirelessly connect to the DG384?
Cheers
