Terry

something different to avoid a clash on the network with a MAC address
already established. The computer is running Windows XP. Does anyone know
how to override or change the existing MAC address to a new one? I aonly
need to change the last number from 7 to 8 and that should do the trick.
This is required due to...

| | Troubleshooting NIC-to-device connection by
bobrics@gmail.com
Hi,
I have a rather simple question. On a network card there are two LED's
representing the existance of a link and internet activity. I am
troubleshooting my network. More precise, there's a device which is
misbehaving so I am trying to identify the problem. When I connect to
internet while NOT using a device - 1st LED is always green and
constant. The 2nd LED is blinking. So I assume the...

Wireless network, using a laptop with a 54g PC card and a 54g router

Had a HDD crash on the laptop last week and had to reinstall. Got the
network back up nd running OK. Then after a few days, I got the
automatic update to reinstall SP2, which I did. Since then, it seems
not to be retaining the network key for more than a few minutes. The

The readings are as follows;
SNR = 57
Signal+ = -39
Noise = -100

Hi Folks,
I recently purchased a Linksys WAG354G
I have a house of modern(ish) construction (circa 1984) but it does
have that nasty double skinned plasterboard with the aluminium foil
stuff within the interior walls - which seemed to give me grief
before when I used my Buffalo wireless router. (At least I think this
stuff is partly to blame)

hi,
If I fitted a wireless 802.11g USB network adaptor dongle to my PC and one
to my laptop would this be sufficient to form a wireless network?
This is my first attempt at networking and am trying to learn as best I can.
I think I understand the principle of a router, and the need to have a
Ethernet modem to connect to it and then any other device with wifi built
in or network USB dongle...

If yes, what hardware would you recommend. Ideally I would need a

I live in a granite cornish barn and the wifi signal is poor - too many

Also we have a belkin WAP which I believe aint the best. We are using

Will decent aerial(s) get round this poor reception? I also need to
propogate the signal to our annexe which about 40 feet from the main

Hi,
1. Anyone know of dealers for these products in London (apart from

2. Just how good are they compared to the cheaper models from

I'm asking as the SEG website says their forums are not for asking
