I've installed a Belkin ADSL modem and router model F5D/7632-4 in my
desktop PC and a Belkin laptop network card model F5D7010 to my laptop.
The wireless connection between both has been working for three days but
today I cannot connect. Probably a dull question but does the weather
have any bearing on the ability to connect to both computers.
I've also find the instructions for this...

The range would be somthing like 20 metres or so. And not in a direct
line of site.

| | Wireless Internet - Belkin F5D9012UK by
dan roberts
Hi.
I have just brought the Belkin F5D9012UK to try and set up wireless net
access in my house. We only have 1 phone socket which is in the lounge, the
PC is upstairs in the spare room and thus we have a lovely white extension
cable running all the way up the stairs! Great fun for nearly killing
yourself on in the mornings, but not very good for anything else!
I was hoping to be able to...

| | How to steal neighbor's signal? by
roger
I have a wireless card in my laptop and picked up a pretty good signal
from someone's Linksys access point in my building.
I bought a Netgear cable/dsl wireless router (4 Ethernet ports also )
thinking I can set it up as a repeater (for the stolen signal) and be
able to hook in other (wired) PC's in my apartment. The problem is, the
antenna is only a transmitter (as far as I can tell) and the...

J
Hi,
Just a few quick questions to ask about setting up a wireless router
securely. Just been reading the 'stealing neighbour signal' thread with
interest and made me wonder what I could do to make my wireless network
more secure.
1. I've changed the default SSID to something else and try to change
this regularly.

Graham
I have a limited knowledge of networking but want to link two home PC's
together to run MS Flight Simulator on split screens.
I have a P4 3.2 and P2 600mhz.
Can some tell me exactly what network cards I should buy, make and model
would help as there seems to be soooo many and a hub or switch that will
link them, also what cables I will need?
I like to use Dabs.com to order stuff so if you...

Start off with a basic question.
Does anyone have any experience of setting up WDS using two Sweex LC000070
routers ?
No matter what I do, I can't seem to get both routers to talk to each other.

Repost as I haven't seen the original show up on the server...?
I'm trying to set up a VPN between my 2 home ADSL accounts, if for
nothing else, a bit of practice!
I have 'managed' to connect to one machine from the other, by "manage",
I mean I get the icon in the system tray to show connection, but I
cannot fathom out how to actually browse files on the PC into which I am
now VPN'd!

| | Login Password for Netgear 102 access point by
Steven Campbell
Anyone know the Login password for a Netgear 102 access point?
I'm having problems setting this up (see other post) and have tried to
access the access point via its SNMP manager to see if it gives me any other
options.
I've searched Netgears site and scoured Google but no joy.
I've tried the usual 1234, password, netgear etc but everything gets
rejected.

I currently have a wired home network with 3 computers connected to a single
router (Netgear RP614 v2).
However, I want one of the computers to connect to my router via a wireless
connection instead of cable. How would I do this ??
I guess I need to plug some type of transmitter/receiver into the current
RJ45 port of my router and use a wireless PCI card in the PC. Am I right? If

Following some excellent advice from Alex Fraser in this group I now
have a home network running in the 192.168.1.n address range and a NAS
box connected directly to a second NIC on my server using addresses of
182.168.2.n.
It would be useful if I could communicate across these two networks to
(a) allow the NAS to set its time over the Internet and (b) allow the
NAS to send progress emails. To...

Hi Guys,
I'm after a decent ADSL router, with 802.11g wireless and at least 4
ethernet ports. Something good, pref a brandname, linksys or belkin as its
not for me and it has to last.
Budget is around £60.
