Hi, I remember there used to be a website which detailed when the area in which you live was going to be broadband enabled. Is there one available for O2? The reason I ask - I phoned up today to enquire about their broadband service for O2 mobile customers. I was interested in their top package - the 20Mb one. It looked good. I asked about a good router a while ago and this morning bought the Netgear one. Seemed to get it going easy but whilst my laptop immediately went wireless and online my PC, in the same room, will not. The error box says: - "Windows is unable to connect to the selected network. Needed an extension of my line that had to be run externally (using the correct cable, etc) Socket is NTE5, surface mounted, with BT cable entering through the house wall. Although I made the extension connection via IDC, it was still necessary to disconnect the live pair and pull the BT cable back through the hole in order to enlarge the hole and feed the new extension cable through.

I'm getting error messages along the lines of 'rejected username/password' when I try to get my email via pop.dial.pipex.com. No longer have a reliable phone number or email address for whatever passes as 'Pipex Support' these days. My Dell desktop power supply failed. I fitted new power supply, all works well, but Ethernet link showed limited connectivity and wouldn't play ball with DHCP. Using manual setting it looks like it connects properly, BUT it is so slow it won't load any pages, not even the router's one.
