Router only connecting at switch on by Ant
My BT Voyager 2110 router never used to have any problem reconnecting to the internet if it got disconnected. Recently, though, it has stopped doing so. It used to be the case that if it got disconnected for any reason it would reconnect automatically. Now it just stays disconnected. It then refuses to connect again no matter how many times I click the "connect" button. It tries, but...

Using Unsecure W/Less Connection by Stuart B
I noticed when I switched my laptop on tonight that among the list of Wireless Networks shown one was an unsecured one . If someone was to use that and the actual user then tried to connect what would happen. Would he/she get some sort of message or would he/she be unable to connect while the other connection was still connected or could they disconnect the conection .?

router configuration for AOL by yaro137@googlemail.com
As I am not too happy with the interface offered by AOL which takes too much of the screen and gives a lot of things I never really use except for email I tried to configure the router so to keep the connection all the time. I'm using a Linksys Wi-Fi modem router with 4 LAN ports all taken by other computers. I set the router with my screen name and password and I started using Internet...

FTTH & VDSL2 by steve41@totalise.co.uk
What do people on here think will happen with regards to the UK getting FTTH and/or VDSL2? I see that millions of households have got FTTH in Korea and Japan and people are switching from ADSL to FTTH, and Verizon is spending $23bn to roll out FTTH to 18m homes. But from reading this article it looks like BT seems to be pretty cold on the idea of VDSL2 and...

My plusnet connection has just died. Is there a quick and easy way to check if there's a problem at the exchange? Does plusnet have a customer support number? I can't find anything in all my documentation since I migrated to them in January. TIA -- (*) ... of the royal duchy of city south and deansgate http://www.davidhorne.net - real address on website

allowing access to an orange router by Danny
Asking for a friend. He has the Orange Livebox router combo, which works fine. He runs a Gite in France and had a visitor ask if they could use his wireless router whilst they were there. He didn't mind, so they set about trying to get their laptop access to the router, to no avail. The laptop can see the livebox, with good signal strength, and he's turned off the firewall etc, but no...

Question re moving from cable to a BT Line by db
I am currently with Virginmedia and am thinking about moving to BE unlimited. I do have a BT line coming into my house but it's not connected because I'm using VM. My question is do I have to move back to BT first (BT have told me if I come back to them I have to have a minimum 1 year contract) or can I just sign up with BE unlimited and they reactivate my BT line? If any body has any other...

Sky: slow WiFi by Abo
Can anyone help me with the Sky/Netgear router? I'm on the Sky 16Mb product and when connected by ethernet I get 10000 - 12000Kbps according to the speed test on DSLZone. Lovely! :) However, if I'm connected on the WiFi I only get 3500Kbps which is annoying. It is the same story for both my own and my company's laptop. The router has .11g switched on, and the laptops report being connected...

Have Virgin downgraded me? by Resident Drunk
I am on VM 10mb cable package & usually get ~1250k/s downloads from Giganews. For the last few days browsing has seemed more sluggish than usual, particularly saving the odd file from a web page or ftp server. Tonight I started a 4.4gb download using my usual nzb software. There had been nothing of any significance downloaded before this today and it has been a couple of weeks since I...
