Sky - limited service? by JC
My friend has Sky but currently no broadband service (Uses dial-up) He has just signed up for Sky+ and their broadband. His exchange is not yet Sky enabled ((LLU'd?) but he has been offered an 8Mb connection and 40Gb download limit for £10 p/m. That seems good to me, however he says he will be limited to 260hrs per month usage, now I've never heard of such a thing or can't find anything on...

Not able to view Sky home page by hamsatuk
Hi A friend of mine who is on sky broadband had the dreaded Anti virus XP 2008 crap on his computer and asked me for help. Used Spy hunter which remove all the offending files. Since then he is unable to load and view the Sky home page but can view other sites such as BBC, google etc. Any idea what may be preventing Sky from being displayed TIA Tony

Sky Netgear router problem by Slider
Hi I have Sky Max broadband with a V1 white Netgear router. Recently on several occasions (about 4) it has seemed to just stopped working. When this "lock up" happens I have no internet access and I also can't connect to the PC from the Xbox (to steam videos). Only way to get it back on is to pull the power cord out and re-boot. Is this an indication that the router is on it's way out? ...

Is BT broadband still terrible? by Bella Jones
Their site has all sorts of packages on it, but since I take most of my advice from technical people, I have always avoided it like the plague for adsl, as when things go wrong they seem to pass you round the houses and generally be a nightmare. Is this still the case though? -- bellajonez at yahoo dot co dot uk

Moving house + new phone number by Bella Jones
Hi all The answer here may be obvious, but I can't seen it. I'm about to move house. I'm currently with Demon for adsl (since the mid 90s), with a BT line, but it seems to be costing a lot (24.99/mth + 20/mth BT), so I thought I'd change to a package with adsl + landline. So, just as an example, I looked at the Tiscali site, and they have a page where you put in your phone number, 'the one...

Waitrose and traffic shaping by Mrs Miggins
Hi Is anyone here a Waitrose ISP user? If you are, have you noticed that your torrent speeds have reduced to about 10kbs per torrent? Or is it just me? (They did change to plusnet, as the provider, recently)

Siemens SE587? by Harry Bloomfield
The other night my Netgear managed to corrupt its firmware mid upgrade, via Wifi so I lost access. As a standby in case of such problems I had the free from Tiscali Siemens SE587 already set up, configured and ready to drop into place - except I never checked it actually worked until my Netgear died. I plugged it all in and got no response at all, so I did a reset and then a factory reset....
