She is thinking of cancelling wanadoo as their high...

ADSL connection username change (bt_test) - Side effects? by Jim Howes
Demon, among others, suggest, in the event that your connection does not automatically re-establish itself after a failure, that you use the BT Test login before trying again. I.e. set the username to bt_test@startup_domain The password not actually mattering, but "test" has been suggested, probably to get around systems which will not accept a blank password. My question is, does using the...

Does the Sky Wireless Router have a 4 port switch? by mickr@orange.net
Hope you can help I'm just about to migrate from BT to Sky/Easynet but need a combination of WiFi and Ethernet connections. Does the current supplied Sky Wireless Router (Netgear I think) have any other ethernet connectivity, eg a 4 port switch so that I can have hard wired connections as well as WiFi? Thanks

mac by critcher
seems my isp(prodigynet) has disappeared from the face of the earth. Been with them for about 4 years on adsl and all was alright until about 6 months ago. Then my ping and connection started having problems and to resolve the matter I tried to get in touch with them. I emailed them quite a few times, phoned them, still no response. All I needed to know was if it was their problem or BT's. I...

Conlflict Fax & Broadband by Phil
I have a fax machine which works fine when sending but on receiving I have problems. Could it be the sharing with the broadband is causing the error messages. I have problems with about half the faxes being sent to me. Anything I can do or do I need to get a new fax machine. But would a new machine make any difference? Phil

Pipex up for sale by cokeman.uk
http://www.thinkbroadband.com/news/3017-pipex-up-for-sale.html The Belfast Telegraph has a short story enlightening us to the fact that Pipex has appointed bankers whose task it is to sell the Pipex group. It appears putting the group up for sale is the result of a review started in January 2007. The current stock market value of the company is £336m on annual revenue of £133m. Pipex has a...

Belkin Pre-N router weirdness by Tim Downie
We were trying to connect another PC to our network the other day but without any joy (cable connection). After a bit, I emembered that I had MAC filtering set up in my router/modem so I went through the web interface to the MAC filtering section. Every time I tried to access that section the browser would freeze and after that, I couldn't access any other parts of the router set-up. If I...

Attitude of Plusnet reps on ADSL Guide by Gifted
Just been reading the Plusnet forum on ADSL Guide, or, Think Broadband or whatever it is now? A guy called James Bailey (Metronet James?) who claims to be a Plusnet Comm. representative is showing shockingly unprofessional behaviour in a lot of his comments, in the last couple of weeks he has been trading insults with posters and losing his temper on a regular basis!!! Where do Plusnet find...

Hi, I am getting very slow speeds in the evenings (from about 5 pm to 9 pm) on my demon connection, ran two speedtests from speedtester.bt.com tonight, the first came back with 510 kbps and the second was 430 kbps. Migration Question by Norman
Quick, possibly daft question here. This afternoon, my migration from AOL to ADSL24 was completed. My wife had connected to AOL via the modem this morning and left the connection going all day. I had checked the ADSL24 website at work at lunchtime and the status was showing as live. Meanwhile the modem remained connected to my AOL setting. Would the connection have remained on AOL until I...
