Dave Boomhauer
I'm interested in SKY BB, but have my own router that I want to stick with.
Do Sky still expect you to use their wireless hardware?

| | Stalled house move order - Eclipse or BT problem? by
Glenn Proctor
Hi
I moved house 2.5 weeks ago. I told my ISP (Eclipse) several weeks before the
move. The new house is on a different exchange to the old one, but it's
close to the exchange and the previous owners had broadband, so that's not
an issue.
Of course there was no broadband connection when I tried it on the day I
moved, and there still isn't! Eclipse are blaming BT, saying that BT are
reporting a...

| | Any LLU issues ? (from Pipex to BeThere) by
Colin Wilson
I don't know a lot about LLU unfortunately, and i'm wondering if anyone
can clue me up on any potential pitfalls about moving to an LLU service.
I'm looking at BeThere, and a lot of the feedback on adslguide seems
positive, although the BeBox configuration sounds a little messy.
Are there any drawbacks as far as phone line provision is concerned,
such as problems getting line faults resolved...

| | Orange refusing to upgrade to 8Mb and enable VOIP by
Ian McMillan
Has anyone had similar problems?
I signed up to Orange Unlimited in December, they said that despite being
provisioned at 2Mb they would then be able to upgrade the speed of the line.
Over a month later, they are now telling me that 2Mb is the fastest they can
operate my line that (this is absolute tosh and the livebox's own stats
prove this) and they say that due to problems with the VOIP...

| | Strange wiring and syncing problem by
Dave Saville
I was trying to help a friend out today. He has Freeserve/Wanado/Orange or
whatever it is called today :-)
Some time in the past he had trouble with his line as the drop wire was fouled
by a tree. When Mr BT turned up he said there was not much he could do as the
tree was someone else's. My friend pointed out that there was a clear line of
sight from the pole to his barn, now converted to...

One of the things some ISPs did in the past was to check that the
caller had sent their number (CLI) so they are not anonymous. If
the caller was anonymous, some things (like sending mail) could be
disabled. Does she have a permanent "withheld" status on her line?
Can she use webmail to send,...

Anyone know from their own experience whether broadband is actually
switched on earlier than the date given in the letter.
Her letter with user name and login password has arrived with a go

This problem is weird..... I cant get my head around it.
I have been through several different speeds with my present datastream ISP
(joined them in Jan 2004), from 256kbps - 512kbps - 1mbit, then when my ISP
offered to trial me with ADSL Max, I junped at the chance and signed up to
trial the service. I had no idea when the trial would start, but one
morning I woke to find my speed was...
