Virgin Mobile.

Guys,
I am looking for a dual WAN router at reasonable price. More WAN ports
would be nice. From Google I managed to find a few interesting
products.
In particular, the Peplink device looks nice.

| | Tiscali DNS Servers by
Sir Awl
Is there a fault with these this morning. I've just been to sort out
someones problems on their PC and discovered that although he had access
to email he could not gain access to any web sites. All his settings
seem to be correct. The DNS addresses are allocated by the ISP so I do
not know the addresses. Does anyone have the details, and also perhaps
some alternatives.

| | ADSL Disconnects since alarm installation by
Resident Drunk
Hi all,
A friend of mine who lives at the other side of the country has had
problems with their BT BB connection since an alarm was fitted several
weeks ago.
Previously the connection was solid but since the alarm went in it
constantly disconnects and often fails connecting with a 'server not
responding'.

| | BT outlines new wholesale broadband pricing by
Sunil Sood
As mentioned during BT's results presentation last week:
"BT today revealed how it plans to reduce its wholesale broadband pricing
once 1.5m lines have been unbundled. The indicative prices are aimed at
offering service providers a cost effective alternative to Local Loop
Unbundling (LLU).
The new pricing structure is intended to come into effect from May 2007 - at
which point BT believes...

| | Help: Looking for 3G Laptop Card & Contract by
Travec the Dacian
I've just found out that during December I will be working in an
environment where I will have to use a 3G PCMCIA card in my laptop to
access broadband internet.
I'm prepared to bite the bullet and buy a year's contract if I have no
other choice, but what I need is an unlimited deal. I've looked at
T-Mobile and Vodaphone, but it seems 3G is still very expensive and,
although some companies...

| | How long should it take to sync? by
Trev
Between mains power cuts (every couple of weeks around here, lately) I have
a reliable ADSLMax connection from Zen running at 160 - 224 kbps downstream
and 448 kbps upstream, on a line about 11 km long. Noise margin d/s cycles
slowly between 6 & 12 db (better at night), and is always 12 db u/s. The
problem is that it takes my Netgear DG834 router anything up to 12 hours to
re-sync after a...

Travec the Dacian
On 9 November I emailed the sales dept or RedTen with the following
question:
"If I migrate to RedTen Internet using a MAC from my existing ISP do I
still have to pay your £49.99 connection fee?"
Seven long days later, on 16 November I got the following reply:
"All customers who sign up to Redten Internet will be required to pay
the £49.99 connection fee."

mark_drewersback@yahoo.co.uk
Hi
Anybody any opinions on the new redten deal?
http://www.redteninternet.com/
A decent new PC is tempting but the 3 year contract is a bit daunting.
Apparently, the finance is with another company and the PC isn't
"yours" till the end of the contract. So if the company goes bust
you've got a 3 year loan, no PC and no broadband. But....if they do

| | Broadband never worked! SNR problem? by
Mark, Devon
Hi,
Can anyone help? About four weeks ago I supposedly had Pipex broadband
installed. I have an Applemac (new) and two new routers, one Netgear.
Since the installation the brodband link has never worked. The 'i' lamp
on the Netgear router flickers on amber about every 30s and that is
alll it does. It never stays on solid green. Occasionally it goes green
for only a second or two. The same sort...

Vodafone unveiled details of its broadband bundle this morning. We can

back of BT's network. They will also get inclusive landline calls

Kevin Cowans
Hello all
I have been having problems with slow speeds on my 7616kbps Broadband
connection and as a test I took the user panel off the Master Socket to try
to connect to the Test Socket to see if I had any better speeds through
that.
Problem is, the Test Socket does not seem to work.
Even stranger is that there are 3 sets of cables connected to the IDC

| | D-Link Log Settings by
Halmyre
I've got a D-Link DSL-G624M which I'm fairly happy with, but it doesn't
seem to be logging anything. According to the config page there should
be a button to click on to change ' Log Settings', but I can't see it.
The illustrations on the manual pages don't have it either!?! Firmware
is the latest version.

| | Experience with BT Voyager 2019 wireless router and Windows XP SP2 by
Gordon
A friend of mine went on to BT broadband recently (before I could warn him!)
and was given a BT Voyager 2019 Wireless ADSL Modem/Router. He was also
given a 128 bit WEP key for it. We couldn't get any wireless-enabled
computer to connect. They could all SEE the wireless connection, but
couldn't connect. Eventually, I decided to try setting up a new wireless
network on my laptop. During that,...

| | Short-term BB contract needed by
Hungerdunger
A firend wants to get a Broadband account, but is planning to move to France
in about six months time.
She tells me that all the ISPs she has looked at so far require her to sign
up for 12 months (and this is true of my own ISP - Demon).
Can anyone suggest where she can get a short-term contact from?
